18 October 2025 : Journey to Nazca

For my journey to the coast I took a Peru Hop bus, this is a tourist service running between the main tourist stops. Seating is comfortable with plenty of leg room and reclinable seats.  There are USB charging ports and wifi onboard.   As the journey took about 10 hours the comfort was appreciated. Peru Hop also sell tours (at what I found to be reasonable rates) and hotel bookings (which I considered overpriced so didn't take them up on).

The landscape outside varied, often barren but bringing me to my first sight of the sea since I'd arrived in Peru,having descended from an altitude of about 2,300 metres in Arequipa.
