To Ghorepani
To Ghorepani
On my way again, there are fewer steps and the path is mostly well trodden.
But it can be rough in places.
And there are still some steps.
Arriving in Ghorepani I stay at the Hungry Eye.
Once again I have a room to myself with electricity, WiFi and its own toilet and shower. The room is better maintained than the one in Ulleri but the WiFi isn't as good. The food, however, is excellent.
In Kathmandu the mornings started out like a cool English summer's day and then temperatures slowly rose to uncomfortably hot by the afternoon. Here it's a lot cooler and fog (or lowlying cloud?) can be an issue even in the afternoon.
I got up at 4:30 am to make the walk from Ghorepani to the top of Poonhill in time to see the mountain peaks revealed by the rising sun. I took a LOT of photos during and after sunrise and I've only reviewed them on a small screen but these are the ones I picked out for now. Viewing the sunrise here brings together people on a lot of different treks so it's quite a crowd.
