To Jhinu Danda
To Jhinu Danda
Leaving Chomrong it's downhill again.
Some of the villages are little more than trekking rest stops but Chomrong was well established before tourism took hold. Along the way to my next stop I was able to see some of the daily life in the surrounding area.
The lady sat on the ground here is washing her clothes outside her house.
This man tills a field using a plough drawn by water buffalo.
A traditional village house with satellite dish.
A nearby landslide has stirred up a cloud of dust.
On reaching Jhinu Danda I stayed at the Namaste Guest House.
My room was very comfortable, sole occupancy with electricity and WiFi but this time without my own bathroom.
However in addition to the communal facilities at the guest house other bathing options were also available - adjacent to the Modi Khola River, hot springs have been captured into a couple of bathing pools. I relaxed in one of these for an hour or so.
And the guest house had good views of the mountain peaks.
