To Ulleri
To Ulleri
The day started with a jeep drive to Tikedhunga. From there it's all on foot.
Approaching the Ulleri steps, what may be the first of many bridges on this journey.
The stream running under the bridge. Where the water pours in is a spray of colours only hinted at in the photo, more an aura than a rainbow.
Most of the walking today consists of ascending the Ulleri steps. The most consistently claimed count for them seems to be 3,200.
Views from the steps are wonderful but the photos don't really do them justice.
The steps vary in size, shape and state of repair. Most though are in good condition.
The steps are mostly continuous except broken by landings which often have at least benches to rest and sometimes stalls selling refreshments. This 360 is taken from one of the larger refreshment stops.
More buildings appear - we are approaching Ulleri.
The steps continue within Ulleri.
I stay for the night at the Green Hill View Guest House.
I have a room to myself with electricity, WiFi and its own toilet and shower.
