To Landruk
To Landruk
The path to my next stop took me across the Jhinu Danda suspension bridge. This is 287 meters long and 135 meters above the Kimrong Khola river.
Traffic aross the bridge can be heavy.
View from the bridge.
The path goes ever on.
A shorter, lower bridge "the new bridge"(possibly so called because it lies alongside the remains of the old bridge) crosses the Modi Khola.
A channel leads water to power a small mill just off the track.
A waterfall pours from the hills above.
This impressive waterfall further along the way descends with such energy into a confined space that the water then shoots out into the air.
Reaching Landruk I stayed at the Maya Guest House Restaurant.
This is the roughest room I stayed in - the walls are warped rough wood - and even this has limited electric lighting with me as the only occupant. The family running the guest house were very friendly and it was an enjoyable stay.
The mountain peaks were largely obscured by the clouds but some good glimpses were possible including at sunrise.
