To Chuile
To Chuile
Having descended from Poonhill (and then had breakfast) I set of for the next stop along my trek.
Along the way I passed donkey caravans.
And saw grazing water buffalo.
And some attractive waterfalls.
At one point there were a great many arranged stacks of stones. My guide Sanu attributed this to "children".
Previously most of the travel had been uphill but for this leg of the journey much of it was downwards, descending many stone steps.
I got quite sharp pains in my knee joints, I think this was a result of handling the downwards steps less well than the upwards ones.
I stayed two nights in Chuile - my knees were now very painful to walk on and I needed a day's rest.
It's warmer here and the views over the valley below are spectacular.
And although the mountains aren't so visible here, in the morning sun the peaks can still be seen peeking above the nearby hills.
